The 2022 Middlesex County History Day will be held on May 14 at East Jersey Old Town Village in Piscataway. 

East Jersey Old Town Village is comprised of reconstructed, replica 18th and 19th-century structures that represent architecture typical of farm and merchant communities once found in the Raritan Valley. Buildings include a tavern, blacksmith shop, wheelwright shop, schoolhouse, barracks, church, the homes of early settlers, and other outbuildings.

  • 10am: Event Begins / Cannon & Musket demo hourly
  • 12pm: Liberty BBC game 1 @ Liberty Field
  • 12pm: Civil War Era String Music @ East Lawn
  • 1pm: Ulysses S. Grant @ East Lawn
  • 2pm: Liberty BBC game 2 @ Liberty Field
  • 2:30pm: Civil War Era String Music @ East Lawn

There will be a variety of family-friendly activities going on that day, including:

  • Vintage baseball
  • Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers
  • Historic gardening and agriculture
  • Stone carving
  • 19th Century Print Shop
  • Home and hearth demonstrations
  • Music
  • Horse-drawn wagon rides through Johnson Park
  • Food trucks
  • Children's crafts
  • And much more

In partnership with REPLENISH, the East Jersey Old Town Village will also be collecting nutritious food for residents in need. If interested in helping, bring a non-perishable food item when attending the History Day event.
