The Original Raritan River Environmental Festival is Back!

The Raritan River Environmental Festival is returning on Sunday, September 25th, 2022 from 12 PM - 5 PM. Come enjoy a fun day out at Boyd Park for the 40th Annual Festival, returning to its roots and focusing heavily on environmental growth, live & local entertainment, and of course their famous and longtime favorite, the Cardboard Canoe Races!

Festival admission and parking are free!

Fun for all ages - live music all day, food, craft vendors, games & activities for the kids!

The day is also marketed by other fun activities, including all-day live music from an eclectic roster of performers, vendors serving an array of food, a beer garden, educational programs about the local watershed and local environmental issues, tours, and lectures about the history of the river and free yoga, drumming and dance workshops. There will also be plenty of children's activities!

Cardboard Canoe Races

The races combine creativity and engineering with friendly competition, as registered participants build and race cardboard canoes in the Raritan River!

Trophies are awarded to the New Brunswick business competition race for the first canoe to win the race by successfully paddling out and back as well as to the canoe deemed by our judges to have the best design.

The public canoe-building race is fun for the entire family to join in on as well. Participation in this family-friendly activity is free. Children of all ages may help build canoes, but anyone wishing to race the canoes on the river must be at least 8.
