The Girl Scouts of New Brunswick/North Brunswick will have a cookie display inside Filippo's Famous Pizza on Sundays from 1:00-3:00 PM if you would like to purchase cookies.
Information about the Girl Scouts:
Girl Scouts can start as early as Kindergarten and continue all the way thru 12th grade. We offer grant-based troops in certain schools in New Brunswick during the after-school programs (basically every school except Woodrow, Greater Charter, and Lord Sterling). The Girl Scouts has financial assistance to cover registration fees for girls ($40 a year, as well as cover the cost of the uniform). They believe that ALL girls should be able to participate in Girl Scouts.
Most of the funding comes from national/regional/local donations, as well as 95% comes from cookie season fundraising.
Troops are allowed to have sponsors and take donations towards their troop, but the girls cannot directly ask for donations.
Troop Leader, Mrs. Hughes saw the need for an Inclusion Troop which she started in June of 2022. The Inclusion Troop 82590 accepts ALL girls from grades K-5, with or without special needs. Now we have girls from North Brunswick, and surrounding areas, and all the way up to Bridgewater; the Troops home base is held at the Adams AC in North Brunswick Hall. The Adams is a non-profit organization like the Girl Scouts that supports local youth but is centered on sports in North Brunswick. The Adams also supports the Buddy Ball program for sports which a lot of our girls attend. (You do not have to live in North Brunswick to be a part of the Buddy Ball program there. And the program is free to all.)
Cookie Lineup: While supplies last, troops will have all the cookies on the cookie sheet lineup, except for the new cookie launched this year; Raspberry Rally. This is exclusively online for the direct ship only. Find a local troops link or support the Special Needs troop: direct ship-link below.
