Multicultural Folk Dance Gathering with Special Guests from Hungary Dances from different ethnic groups will be presented by local (NJ) folk dance performing groups in traditional costumes. After the performances these dances will be taught to the participants by the leaders of each performing group. No prior dance knowledge necessary. This will be a fast paced, interactive event with ongoing performances and dance workshops. Visit our csurfolk.org to see videos about our previous Multicultural folk Dance events. An outstanding addition to this year’s event is a folk-dance show presented by Vadrózsa Folk Dance Group from Budapest, Hungary. Vadrózsa (’Wild Rose’) will take part in a five-city tour of the East Coast of the U.S. in the fall of 2024. The highlight of the performance series is the commemoration, which pays tribute to the memory of the revolution and freedom struggle of October 23, 1956. Vadrózsa’s performance with 40 dancers and 5 musicians will treat the audience to a spectacular and captivating authentic dance performance based on the rich folk dance and folk music tradition of the Carpathian Basin.
