Driving Directions & Parking Information

From New Jersey Turnpike (North or South)  

    • Turn off at Exit 9, bear right after the toll booths and follow signs for "Route 18 North - New Brunswick." Stay to the left to continue on Route 18 North.

    • Proceed along Route 18 North and bear right to access the local lanes. After the 3rd traffic light (Paulus Boulevard, George Street/County Road 171, and Commercial Avenue), take the "New Street" exit and go straight through the 1st traffic light at Neilson Street. At the next street, turn right on to George Street. You are now in downtown New Brunswick. For parking, please visit the New Brunswick Parking Authority website for lots and garages.

From Garden State Parkway   

Southbound (from northern points)

    • Turn off at Exit 129 for the New Jersey Turnpike and head south.
    • Follow the directions to downtown New Brunswick from the New Jersey Turnpike.

Northbound (from southern points)

    • Turn off at Exit 105 and follow signs for Route 18 North.
    • After approximately 24 miles, you will pass the entrance for the New Jersey Turnpike.
    • Follow the directions to downtown New Brunswick from the New Jersey Turnpike.

From Route 1 ( North or South)  

    • Turn off at exit marked "Route 18 North-New Brunswick." Proceed to downtown New Brunswick as you would from the New Jersey Turnpike.

  From Route 287 (North or South)  

    • Turn off at Exit 9 "River Road, Bound Brook, Highland Park. "
    • Proceed East on River Road toward Highland Park.
    • Make a right onto Route 18 South (exit after the traffic light at Landing Lane). Cross the Raritan River on the John Lynch Memorial Bridge.
    • Stay in the right lane and take the first exit which is marked "George Street - Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Route 27."
    • You will then go straight through 4 traffic lights. After crossing the 4th traffic light, you are now in downtown New Brunswick. For parking, please visit the New Brunswick Parking Authority website for lots and garages.
