Saint Peter's Healthcare System

Saint Peter's Healthcare System, sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen, is comprised of Saint Peter's University Hospital, a 478-bed acute care hospital with a state-designated children's hospital; Saint Peter's Foundation; Saint Peter's Physician Associates; Saint Peter's Health and Management Services Corporation; the CARES Surgicenter; and Saint Peter's Family Health Center. Saint Peter's is a regional specialist in maternity and women's services, diabetes, gastroenterology, genetics, geriatrics, oncology, stroke, and pediatrics, pediatric intensive care, and pediatric surgery, serving the community for 118 years. Saint Peter's received its seventh consecutive Magnet® designation for nursing excellence and its first Magnet with Distinction® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2025.

Saint Peter's sponsors residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and internal medicine; offers fellowship programs in gastroenterology and pulmonary disease and a pharmacy residency; and is a major clinical affiliate of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.

Saint Peter's Community Health Services' staff of advanced practice nurses and registered nurses travel throughout Central Jersey offering health screenings and educational programs. Community Health Services provides these services at schools, retirement communities, day care centers, shelters, senior centers, public housing complexes, shopping centers, churches, and corporations. Corporate Health Services are also offered.
