An Open Air Riverfront Entertainment Venue
The Boyd Park Amphitheater was a part of the NJ Department of Transportation development project to revamp the Route 18 Freeway. Although this project directly targeted transportation infrastructure investment, the enhancement to park land was just as critical to its success.
Through the design of more than five miles of multi-use pathways and pedestrian bridges, easy bicycle and pedestrian access to Boyd Park has reconnected the riverfront to the city. The construction of the Boyd Park amphitheater and promenade support and improve its existing active uses and invites the passive recreational enjoyment of this unique setting.
The outdoor theater is now a local favorite for performances and festivals. It has become the home of popular events like "Hub City Sounds", a free outdoor concert series, the Raritan River Festival, and a variety of other cultural events. The Boyd Park Amphitheater will continue to transform and engage as it truly reflects the quality of entertainment and wealth of talents found at New Brunswick City Center.
