At Johnson & Johnson, we believe good health is the foundation of vibrant lives, thriving communities, and forward progress. That’s why for more than 130 years, we have aimed to keep people well at every age and every stage of life. Today, as the world’s largest and most broadly-based healthcare company, we are committed to using our reach and size for good. We strive to improve access and affordability, create healthier communities, and put a healthy mind, body, and environment within reach of everyone, everywhere. Every day, our more than 130,000 employees worldwide are blending heart, science, and ingenuity to profoundly change the trajectory of health for humanity.

The Johnson Hall Clock Tower raises awareness of global health-related observances and their importance to Johnson & Johnson. It celebrates noteworthy anniversaries, milestones, and commemorations.

April 3-6 - World Healthcare Worker Week

Starting April 1, Johnson & Johnson celebrates the lifesaving work of health workers during World Health Worker Week. Building on our legacy of championing health workers for over 125 years, we are working with partners to build capacity and foster a professional community health workforce. Community health workers are key to achieving health equity as they are trusted members of their communities and can link them to the health system.

Last year, with support from the Johnson & Johnson Foundation, we collaborated with the Kenyan government and other stakeholders to advance the integration of community health workers into the Kenyan health system and celebrated the launch of a nationwide initiative that pays and equips community health workers with the government’s own resources. This is just one example of how we are helping to build a resilient global health workforce and uplifting the critical role they play in closing the gap between communities and care.

April 7- World Health Day

Every April 7, Johnson & Johnson joins with global partners in recognizing World Health Day, which marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization in 1948 and highlights the significant and persisting gaps in health care, often for historically marginalized communities who are at risk for experiencing the greatest inequities.

At Johnson & Johnson, we believe health is everything. Our strength in healthcare innovation empowers us to build a world where complex diseases are prevented, treated and cured; where treatments are smarter and less invasive; and where solutions are personal – putting better health within reach. Through our expertise in Innovative Medicine and MedTech, and our social impact and public health investments, we are uniquely positioned to innovate across the full spectrum of healthcare solutions today to deliver the breakthroughs of tomorrow, close the gaps between communities and the care they deserve, and profoundly impact health for humanity.

April 22 - Earth Day

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries.

At Johnson & Johnson, we have a long history of caring for the environment – we know that human health and environmental health are fundamentally linked - healthy people need a healthy planet. But environmental impacts are increasingly affecting people’s health and wellbeing, and climate change is a global public health threat. With our reach, expertise, and convening power, we are taking action to improve our environmental footprint and support the resilience of our business for generations to come.

We continually strive to improve the environmental footprint of our operations, our products, and our value chain. Building on decades of setting and achieving carbon reduction goals, our current climate goals are to reach 100% renewable electricity and decarbonize our own operations – and to encourage our suppliers to do the same. We also recognize our opportunity to drive positive change on issues that affect the health of the people we serve. Together with like-minded partners, we are working to tackle today’s global health challenges related to human and environmental health—issues like climate change and health equity.

And what would we be without our dedicated and passionate employees? Our commitment to sustainability is underpinned by our employees, and we believe that everyone plays a role in shaping the future of our Company.

April 24-27 - Global Intergeneration Week

Global Intergenerational Week is an annual campaign celebrating all things intergenerational. The campaign looks to inspire individuals, groups, organizations, local/national governments, and NGOs to fully embrace intergenerational practice, connecting people of different generations in intentional, mutually beneficial activities. It is an opportunity to celebrate good practices, ideas, moments, and opportunities local to us, where different age groups come together and intergenerational friendships are formed! Johnson & Johnson is a proud partner of organizations that promote acceptance and inclusion of all people across race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, and ability.
