Rep. Pallone: Get $30 Off Your WiFi Bill, For Those Who Qualify
The Affordable Connectivity Program, a new program created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, provides eligible households $30 off.
This week, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., a Democrat who represents New Jersey's Sixth Congressional District, announced a new initiative to give eligible families a discount on WiFi.
Congressman Pallone represents Carteret, Woodbridge, Edison, and New Brunswick, down into parts of Old Bridge, through Aberdeen, Hazlet, Holmdel, North Middletown, Atlantic Highlands, and Highlands. His district, NJ 6, also includes Asbury Park and Long Branch.
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) — a new program created by the bipartisan Infrastructure Law — provides eligible households $30 per month off their Internet bill. Under this new initiative, 20 major internet service providers have agreed to offer an internet plan to eligible families for no more than $30 per month, allowing families who use the ACP benefit along with the discounted plan to receive high-speed internet service at no cost.
As Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Pallone fought to include the ACP in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which was signed into law by President Biden in November.
"These days, high-speed internet is not a luxury – it's a necessity. Americans depend on internet access to do their jobs, run their small businesses, study for school, meet with their doctor for a telehealth visit, and connect with family and friends," Pallone said. "The COVID-19 pandemic made it all too clear that we must do more to bridge the digital divide and ensure every household has access to the internet."

Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare, and more.
The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.
The Affordable Connectivity Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.
